I’ve struggled for several years to jump in and finally start a blog. Friends, colleagues, coworkers, several folks have recommended it to me. After moving four times in less than ten years, it’s always been on the bucket list but never become a checked box. There’s always been something more pressing, time-consuming, interesting, or needing to be finished right at that moment.
I’m running out of excuses.
Perhaps it’s time.
Most folks would start a podcast. It’s the Millennial thing, right? Either we start brewing mead, grow a garden, live off-grid, become terrifically incensed by politics, or start a podcast to cope with the impending existentialism.
I left my home country and continue to wander, becoming more and more convinced that I will never be a traditional success story, and perhaps that’s more than alright.
Settling for mediocre, that’s me. Shooting for average. Being content with so-so. Finding happiness, even pleasure in the modicum of the everyday.
That’s what this blog is, I suppose. That’s what it’ll be. I don’t blame you if you’re turned off from the onset. It’s a pile of scraps, after all, musings and thoughts leftover from whatever trip or excursion I’ve been on that I haven’t fully thought through quite yet.
Perhaps it’ll be a journal, or a thinkpiece. Or maybe… just for me.
The internet is a large enough place. This nook can be for me.
